About Me

As a writer, tutor, and football coach, I lead a pretty interesting life!  On the one hand, I’m constantly in my head, writing stories about far away imaginary place.  On the other I’m grounded in my passionate love of the game of football and the teamwork that it takes to compete. At the same time, I’m deeply immersed in the world of academia, where my heart lies in the study of English literature, writing, and history, and in teaching and sharing it with others.

As an English and Humanities tutor, my focus is on helping students develop their skills of self-expression.  Whether it’s crafting a compelling essay or honing their ability to tell engaging stories, I strive to inspire and guide them to unlock their full potential.  It’s immensely fulfilling to see their progress and confidence grow over time.

My ultimate goal is to become a university professor, teaching English and Writing at the highest level.  I believe that writing is an essential skill that can help individuals express themselves and make their mark on the world.  And what better way to engage with that belief than by mentoring the next generation of writers?

In my free time, I serve as the offensive coordinator and associate head coach for the varsity football team at Waterford District High School in Waterford, ON.  I love the challenge and camaraderie that comes with coaching, and I take pride in helping my players to develop both on and off the field.

My fiction writing dominates the rest of my time.  I’m particularly drawn to speculative fiction, where I can explore the limits of what’s possible and push the boundaries of imagination.  Lately, I’ve also been working on a collection of essays about my experiences with coaching football and writing, which has been a rewarding way to blend my love of the sport with my passion for stories.
